Direct to Mérida

Best route for: miami, Chicago, london, other destinations

For friends and family coming from South Florida; London, or from abroad, your best bet may be to take a direct flight to Mérida (MID) from Miami Intl. Airport (MIA).

For Chicago and other US destinations, transfer flights are also available via Houston (United Airlines), Atlanta (Aeroméxico), and Mexico City (Interjet, Aeroméxico, and others).

Once in Mérida, group transport to the hotels should take about 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

Via Cancun

Best route for: New York

UPDATE: You can now book into Mérida with a transfer in Atlanta. Transfers can also be made in Miami, Houston and Mexico City.

Alternately, flying to Cancun may be cheaper and easier! Cancun is about 180 miles from Mérida (a 3 hour drive) - the drive is (quite literally) a straight shot.

Our CANCUN Wedding bus:

Let's carpool! We will be arranging a "shuttle-o-fun" on Wednesday afternoon around 2pm to transport guests from Cancun to Mérida. If you'd like to grab a seat, email us: kevinandnicole@googlegroups.com

Renting a car:

Should you opt to drive yourself, at Cancun airport you will find most of the major rental car companies (Avis, Budget, Hertz, etc...). We've done the drive ourselves - it's super easy, a straight shot across. Please just make sure to carry Mexican Pesos as you will need around $450 Pesos for the tolls, and they DO NOT ACCEPT US DOLLARS OR CREDIT CARDS! If you do not have pesos, they will not let you pass. You will have to beg other cars for pesos.
You have been warned!

Other shuttle & Car services:

Lastly, there are regional airport shuttle services that can provide easy transport from Cancun to Mérida, should you be arriving at any other day/time. Please inform The Eventeur team of your travel plans and they will help to coordinate the details.
